The Solihull Active Network consists of a range of partners who support and engage the community to promote sport and physical activity across the borough of Solihull.
The Aim
The aim of the network is to make sport and physical activity inclusive and provide opportunities to widen access and to increase participation in sport and physical activity for the whole community.
Outcomes for the Solihull Active Network
The Solihull Active Network is a partnership that will contribute to achieving:
- An increase in numbers of people taking part in sport and active recreation by 1% year on year.
- An increase in numbers of people participating in physical activity in line with Government guidelines
- 85% of 5 – 16 year olds participating in 2 hours of high quality PE and school sport within and beyond the curriculum by 2008.
- Work towards creating equality of access to physical activity and sport for all.
- An increase in opportunities for physical activity and sport, especially amongst people for under represented groups.
- Increase the quality and number of sport clubs, coaches and volunteers.
- An increase in resources and investment into physical activity and sport .
- Improved health and well-being through LAAs, Solihull Physical Activity Strategy.
- Safer and stronger communities through LAAs, Solihull Crime and Disorder Reduction Strategy.
- A co-ordinated approach to the delivery of physical activity and sport.
- The development of participation pathways, especially for children and young people.
- Agree and publish and contribute towards the delivery of an annual action plan
