Eat Well Move More – Family Weight Management

Eat Well Move More is a free family weight management and healthy lifestyles programme for families with children aged 4-16 years who have concerns over their child’s weight and  health.  This programme is designed to help children lose weight by working with families, supporting them to develop a healthier and more active lifestyle.

Sessions include healthy eating and nutritional advice, tips and ideas for being more active, fun games and interactive activities for the whole family.

The service is for children who are overweight or obese (over 91st centile). If you would like to find out your child’s  BMI centile please see the ‘Children’s Healthy Weight Calculator’ below.

School height and weight checks

Your children will have their height and weight measurements taken in Reception and Year 6 as part of the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP).  If your child’s NCMP letter surprised or worried you, speak to your GP or school nurse for advice and support. Children classified as overweight or very overweight are eligible to take part in the Eat Well Move More programme, you can contact the Solihull Active team by calling 0121 704 8207.
