Walking for health: Come and enjoy your local area, meet new friends and look after your health. Solihull Striders and Strollers provide health walks throughout the borough. We have 10 regular walks in the borough led by our volunteer walk leaders currently at:

  • Castle Bromwich
  • Dorridge
  • Kingshurst
  • Central Solihull
  • Tudor Grange Leisure Centre (Track walk)
  • Shirley
  • Chelmsley Wood
  • North Solihull Leisure Centre (Track walk)
  • You+ Shop
  • Elmdon Park

All age groups are welcome, even little ones in pushchairs. The routes used are mostly flat, even and accessible to all participants regardless of physical ability. The walks are suitable for everyone but if you are unsure, please come along to our next walk and find out for yourself or contact Becky Evans (Step into Solihull Project Manager) if you have any questions.

The walks offer a range of routes that allow for the appreciation and exploration of local surroundings, environment and wildlife. All walks meet at 10.15am for a 10.30am departure.

The walks are usually around an hour but some offer a 30 minute shorter alternative. There is always a welcome cup of tea or coffee on return (for a small donation), as well as the opportunity to chat and make new friends.

Before going on your first walk you will have to fill in a Health Questionnaire, this is just a few simple questions about your general health. You can download and print off the questionnaire and take it with you on your first walk or fill one out on the day.
