Sport and Physical Activity makes a defining contribution to life in Solihull making us a happier, healthier, safer and stronger community.
Our volunteers are at the heart of sport and physical activity in Solihull; they play a pivotal role in encouraging and supporting people to get involved, and stay involved, at all levels.
We need even more so if you would like to find out how to get involved this section will give you ideas and put you in contact with the right people.
So if you are already giving up your time to help and need advice or support, or if you think you have some time to get involved, this section gives you practical advice.
There are lots of exciting chances to get involved in local sports and physical activity. So if you have fancied being behind the scenes at an event or activity, we can point you in the right direction.

National Volunteer Management Portal
Volunteering England’s Volunteer Management Portal acts as a gateway to the world of volunteer management with links to over a thousand resources and information on support, training and development opportunities for people managing volunteers.
Volunteering facts and figures
Recent statistics from Sport England’s Active People Survey have revealed that nearly two million adults (1,972,700) contribute at least one hour a week to volunteering in sport – equivalent to a full-time workforce of over 80,000 people.
The impact that volunteers have in grassroots sport is significant. Just under half (48%) of general participants questioned in Sport England’s Satisfaction Survey rated ‘the competence and commitment of the volunteers I came into contact with in my sport’ as important, while 77% of active club members and 87% of talented athletes agreed.
